And that’s a WRAP
Welcome to the end of 2024, where did the year disappear to edition? Legitimately it might be hiding under the pile of dirty laundry waiting for me at home, but let’s kick on regardless.
Firstly – on a personal level. We mixed things up! 2024 saw us move closer to completing our home – last year we took the leap and as two very non-builder accredited workers, still decided it would be a fantastic idea to build our own home on the fringes of Coonabarabran. The Diesel Mechanic and the Creative, with a little help from our friends (basically anyone who would lend some advice), jumped into the many ups and many, many downs of building and you know what, we made it through without burying the other in one of the many holes we had to dig for footings, septic systems, and plumbing/power requirements…. Legit though could we have picked a rockier outcrop???
With all that being said, this little business is now happily perched on the edge of the Warrumbungles and in between working a full time job to fund this little hustle, we’ve ticked a few goals off the bucket list.
January saw the arrival of my first design. The first few months of this business I realised that I wanted to make something truly special – pieces that would outlast us as individuals. Pieces that would mean something. Pieces that would be for good. So with great anticipation, I worked on an initial design (Piper our OG) which arrived in January and which kicked off the start of our heirloom collection of rings. And don’t get me wrong there were some bumps in the road – we did some reworks, went back and forwards on changes and I learnt some pretty pricey lessons… but we’re as committed to this thing as you’ll be to your Netflix subscription over the hot summer so we stuck at it and I’m so proud to say our range now includes 10 different ring designs and 1 incredible bangle that is built for the sentimental at heart.
I dragged the two mini humans along to my first pop-up shop in Dubbo NSW… it was basically the best opportunity to drink lots of coffee’s and dress fancy for a change but this little chicken was excited to get our pieces in front of you and legit the feedback – you guys are actually the best! It was our soft launch for the Beth band, an everyday statement band that you went wild for! We sold out and have just restocked – the joys of small batch production is we make what you want and everything is customisable so the feedback is helping shape what I have planned for 2025.
The last highlight I’m going to mention because I know you have Christmas magic to be getting back to, but a huge thank you to everyone who attended our Girls Night In, in Coonabarabran. This was an opportunity for me to let the community know about this little business, to celebrate the women in this little town and to help showcase some other small businesses and the good that their doing. Shout out to the rural vendors below who all contributed to a fabulous event;
· Coolamon Cheese Co who saved the day cheese-board wise when a blackout wiped out the towns supply
· Crumble Charms gluten-free treats
· Emme Mac Black Coffee
· Naturally Beautiful Coonabarabran
· Xanthe McCrae – Artist Extraordinaire who showcased her incredible art
· Rusty Gate Honey
· Rowdy Crowd drinkware
· Bulla Creek Brewing Co
· Butter Hair & Co Coonabarabran
· The Lighthouse café who provided a space to host this event
· Coonabarabran Baker for catering
And with that, I’m calling it. Here’s to you for being here, here’s to everyone who shared a kind word, a recommendation, purchased a piece or attended one of my adventurous jaunts. I’m so proud of the pieces that I’m crafting, the stories we have yet to tell and the community that it forming around this business. We’re here for good and for THE GOOD. So, cheers to that, I hope you have a fabulous end of year, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for us all. Talk soon,
Ash
